The Dark Alfred
Yea A2 is starting to flex some muscles here. Very good for M3gan.
Krissykins
Great for M3GAN! Whitney looking at only a -20% drop after a -1% drop last weekend. £10m seems likely. Cate Blanchett and Margot Robbie were on Graham Norton on Friday promoting Tar and Babylon.
Heretic
BO is looking very healthy right now. Amazing jump for Avatar, 2nd biggest 5th weekend of all time is in the bag, and around 25% from last weekend.
Ipickthiswhiterose
How are people for Tar in cinemas where they are? Appears to be barely scheduled here in Lancashire.
Ipickthiswhiterose
Also anecdotally: Megan very busy last night at my local. Pretty sure I was the oldest in the cinema - it was rammed with the 16-25 demographic.

Maybe if Blanchett wins BAFTA.
UKBoxOffice
Tar has a platform release. Smaller number of sites this weekend but will go wider from Friday. Think Babylon is doing similar next week
titanic2187
Can UK join $100m for Avatar 2? Both English-speaking UK and Australia show some nice come back after lukewarm opening but USA didn't exactly follow. So the backlash to first Avatar was quite US-exclusive. I personally think it’s locked And US have nice come back too, after opening many people even think Avatar can’t beating RO’s overall gross Edited January 15, 2023 by Bruce
SchumacherFTW
Avatar situation changes a lot next weekend, it loses Dolby and IMAX screens to Babylon, while the following weds loses some other PLF screens to Pathaan. The next few weeks will be very interesting.

Babylon will probably take some screens, and split some. But a quick look tells me that Avatar is selling far, far better than Babylon which realistically would mean that it will just get whatever screens back that it lost IMO. Don't think it will hurt it too much in the long run. It's also seems to be already splitting Dolby with other films as it is. Krissykins
Babylon not taking any IMAX near me, but is taking Superscreens and VIP from Avatar. Interestingly, M3GAN also now has some new SuperScreen showings for next week.
