Miscellaneous

Strange World - £68K / £3.4M (-24%)

The Banshees Of Inisherin - £45K / £9.4M (+10%)

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - £41K / £34.3M (-52%)

Aftersun - £40K / £1.5M (+40%)

Enys Men - £17K / £257K

Till - £13K / £799K

Holy Spider - £11K / £96K

January - £1.6K / £2.6K

Had no idea Banshees was at nearly £10m here... I'm guessing the Irish gross must be pretty big, does anyone have a breakdown for this?

Also, £1m opening for Fabelmans seems... Not a total disaster (at least against some of the other Oscar bait grosses this year)

Banshees beat Black Adam to #1 in Ireland on release week I believe.

The market has been starved of a proper kids film since Matilda, and no animated film for months. Puss in Boots is going to capitalise on that, and coupled with the critical acclaim it has received as well as half term holidays from its 2nd week, it’s going to be raking it in.

The first one only opened to £2m, but that was in December. Wouldn’t be surprised if this doubled the first’s opening.

Avatar keeping IMAX (again!) at my local this weekend, Puss In Boots is taking the regular 3D screens from it. Avatar down to 4 showtimes this weekend

At my other local:
Knock at the Cabin is taking all of the SuperScreen showings and 3 VIP

Puss in Boots is taking most of the 3D

BTS and Plane are sharing 4DX

Avatar is down to one 3D, one 4DX, one VIP and two standard showtimes there.

Wednesday was:

1. Avatar: The Way Of Water
2. BTS
3. The Fabelmans
4. Pathaan
5. Plane

Bit disappointing for BTS considering the last one was a big hit. FABELMANS showing decent legs so far, we'll see how it fares against THE WHALE.

Friday is looking waaaaay bigger for BTS, seeing lots of sell outs

UNWELCOME was good fun. Disappointed ENYS MEN couldn't produce a better hold.

One more weekend for A2 then the sizeable drops are coming.

I though Unwelcome was the worst film I've seen in the cinema in ages. A nasty film with a rotten heart - I came for a creature feature, not to revisit the worst excesses of hoodie horror. Jesus, I hated hoodie horror at the time, and there was nothing in the marketing for this that indicated the throwback to that vile (for so many reasons) nonsense that this was for 80% of the runtime.

Enys Men didn't play anywhere near me. I kept at eye out but would have had to make a track to Home in Manchester.
