The original The Lion King (1994) got pretty close too. Just needs another re-release.

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic:  $422,783,777    43.7%
Foreign:  $545,700,000    56.3%

Worldwide:  $968,483,777

Potter was a “never the bride” situation.Even for today’s standards it’s OS runs of each film would be impressive, and without China. It’s the US that never warmed up to this franchise as it with others so Potter was stuck with 900+M for most of each film in the franchise.HP 1,5,6,7.1 would have made it imo.

First saw something like that like 5 days ago.

Yeah, there were probably a few people who already made it, but I couldn't find one online so I made that really quick. I just didn't know that twitter influencers use BOT lol.

Remember when there was a Forbes article (I think?) pulling reactions to the Mulan casting from here almost two years ago lol.

Abominable is looking at about 65 dom. Bit disappointing to be honest. I thought it would get close to 3.5x multi with small numbers. Smallfoot did 3.6x and felt Abominable would match that.

DA will cross 90 with ease.

83.5 Dom will give Good Boys a great 3.9x multi.

FFHS is nearing the end. 174 dom / 2.9x

This second weekend of 57-60 million for Joker is bat shit crazy.  This is even more surprising, imo, than the opening weekend.  I personally don't know anyone who has seen it who has really liked it.  I know there are people here who did, but I mean my friends and colleagues.....this hold of a around 40-45% is just nuts.

People know that WW-China > 1bill is still a thing of present right..

It is not only China. We use to focus on China because it is the most spectacular change, but there are many markets which have grown a lot in last 15 years: Brazil, Mexico, some Asian countries like Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia... To make 1 billion 15 years ago was nearly a miracle.

All of us know what kind of beast was Titanic. But ROTK did more than 1.1b without China (it did 10 million there). The first Harry Potter did 975 million without those expanding markets and the worst exchange rates I can remember (1€=0.90$ in late 2001).
