BoP is flopping because of one of the worst marketing campaigns for a post-Iron Man comic book film. This marketing campaign was afraid to embrace the film’s R rated nature. The second trailer released less than a month ago. The name of the film was too damn long. And much more. This was a marketing failure. Completely agree. Purely anecdotally speaking, my partner who is a fan of comic book movies had absolutely no interest in seeing BOP, the trailers turned her off completely as it didn’t seem to actually be about anything, they didn’t sell what the film was actually about in any of the trailers, it was all flashy scenes and Harley being quirky, at no point did it scream “you need to see this!”, and considering this was being marketed towards women, for a female comic book movie fan to have no interest in it suggests that the marketing was definitely badly handled. 2 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
