"There were around 600 theaters (out of the nation’s 5K) open over the May 29-31 frame (which was originally set to see Disney’s Artemis Fowl, which fled to the streaming service), and 728 theaters are expected to be back online this Friday... Out of the 600 locations that were open last weekend, 55% were hardtop locations, while Drive-Ins repped 45% of that count." It's what the box office will look like when indoor locations (and new movies) start to come back that all eyes will be on.

Right...and there were a few other states that did not close theaters, but those are harder to pull out. 7 total states did not have shutdowns of everything...and a few of those also did not shut theaters...but I'd have to go into each state's list of dos and don'ts to find whats and whens... You figure, border theaters probably served their state and the one next door... But, thing is, the theaters that would have stayed open would be small independents who probably only showed 1-3 movies...so all the money could have gone to the winter biggies for the whole period... AKA - I'm not as certain as others that the "cumulative Mar-May" numbers have to be an error...it could have happened...
