Maybe they are introducing characters or plot developments in this one that will be seen again and play an important part in part 3? Just speculating.

This looks really good but I haven’t seen the previous ones because I’m not a big horror fan. I know this one is a prequel but are the other films worth watching?

For sure, they are worth watching. The second one is more action packed.

You need to. I liked both, but the first is my favorite. It's so good.

Maybe this will ezplian something, as much as I liked the first two films, I  wondered about, how the creatures, who basically have no weapons beyound their claws and teeth, were able to overcome all the world's modern military.
