What i'm worried about is Villenueve said he want to make another movie before that (like Nolan with Inception) so seems like we need to wait at least 2028 for the last chapter. It makes sense given the fact that there’s gonna be a big time jump in the next one.

I thought Dune Part One was kind of boring outside of the film, but I listened to Part Two thrice already. I love the last three cues. Only I Will Remain is giving me an out of body experience. Just godly stuff. Simple but insanely effective. A remarkable and very appropriate advancement of the Atreides theme from Part One. It reminds me of how Howard Shore's scores evolved through the LOTR trilogy. The synthesis of all the tones creates just a warm and epic sound.

Valonqar
WB is pulling no stops with Dune 2 promo and gotta say one of the best I've ever seen. The cast is slaying red carpet especially Zendaya who is next level of fashion forward. 😍 I'm bullish on awards prospect and think that if Oppenheimer cleans up as everyone expects, it'll normalize awarding big bl;ockbusters again which hasn't happened in exactly 20 years (ROTK win was the last over 300M dom, over 900M WW win). Paves the way for Dune.
SpiderByte
I don't think any actual shot at winning is gonna come till maybe Messiah
vale9001
The soundtrack is amazing cause this time there is also a more traditional Epic orchestral sound. The soundtrack is a mix of this, horror inspired soundtrack traditions and ethnical african- arabian music. All together creates this very original sound Its very fresh, distinguishable and instantly a classic. Also after Oppenheimer next year probably a very different kind of movie will win. Usually people (so then the voters) tend to push (even if unconsciously) a movie is different from the win before. AniNate
Warner has a lot on their plate this year, though if this still one of their bigger hits I can see them putting their chips down on it.

Sci fi is a different kind of movie than a historical drama as big as both might be at the boxoffice. Also, time of the year doesn't mean anything if a movie has the momentum. Last Man Standing
Probably my favorite reaction so far. I'll be seeing it tomorrow on IMAX, my first time ever seeing a movie in an IMAX, here's hoping it lives up to the hype.
MrPink
Can't speak for the album but I found the score to be overwhelming in this (not in a good way), a lot of bass that ends up blurring together as droning for large portions of this and I didn't recall having this feeling in Part One's score. A couple of nice tracks that spring up towards the end though Edited February 26 by MrPink
SpiderByte
I think when reviews hit people got their hopes up Dune would be an Oppenheimer type blow up but it's not really shaping that way so far, so they can't appreciate that this is still basically locked for a substantial jump from the first movie. Messiah is all but officially happening, so all this is absolutely a win. Edited February 26 by SpiderByte
Valonqar
Blowup awards-wise not boxoffice-wise. Nobody expects 900M+. I think people settled with 700M ceiling.

Still if this makes 600-700M worldwide everyone should be happy

I think this movie will be a good barometer to show how much Oppenheimer would've made without the viral Barbie connection and especially in a world without TikTok. Ehh I think this is still too different to compare. It's still a big action type blockbuster whereas Oppenheimer is a biopic

First time I watched a film in IMAX was James Cameron's Ghosts of the Abyss at an IMAX theater in Malta (unfortunately closed due to poor demand). One of a kind experience the first time you watch a film in that format. I was slightly spoiled by OMNIMAX documentaries when I visited Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. I can't imagine what watching something in Vegas's Sphere is like. I hope you enjoy it. Sci-Fi films are primed for this format. Gravity is the only one I've seen in IMAX. I can't wait to see Dune 2 this weekend. Edited February 26 by ThePhasmid

Dragoncaine
Sound, Visual Effects, Production Design, and Original Score are already fully sewn up for next year's Oscars, by the way, and that's the very least I feel it could haul. Likely Film Editing too, especially if Part One won the same award.
