Alpha is the biggest chain and its doing extremely well. MTC2 tends to be more backend loaded. Sacremento does not have any Alpha theaters(or just 1). So its definitely not representative of overall market. Just look at @Eric Says Trans Rights update. Phily is more Alpha and that provides much stronger comps. Plus this movie will have uber strong reviews and that will help big time. Its definitely not just making 15m in previews. That would be mean lower than BW as Tue/Wed itself would be close to 4m and looking at Alpha its WAY higher than BW at this point without any review/ratings boost.

Everyone going to be so shocked when previews come in at $35m.

WB should honestly just drop reactions now, why not? An entire week of good buzz and reviews until opening Thursday seems ideal.

Though, I guess reviews/tweets Monday still gives enough time for the final days and last minute presales?

You know very well why lifting the embargo this week is a bad idea.

Does the Ukraine/Russia conflict even matter to Americans who will see Batman? And earlier in the week, there wasn't clear confirmation Putin would invade.

There's nothing else culturally going on. Reviews out this week, fan event reactions next week. Would have been perfect build-up

Because they are obviously concerned about plot details getting out.  Hence "treating it like Avengers/Star Wars Saga" films.

I don't think they should be, but this is the tact they've decided to take.

More to a point, as long as the film is good/great as WB thinks it's gonna be, it really doesn't matter in the long run if Joe or Jane Ticket Buyer buys a ticket a week before release or the Monday after OW after hearing all of the reactions.  Ticket sales are ticket sales and as long as someone eventually buys a ticket, I don't think WB cares all that much when it is.

(is also the PoV that one is saying something by treating a film like an Event Release even if it doesn't have an Event Release Hype to go with it)

The whole media and social media is talking about Russia / Ukraine, drop reactions right now and it would be overshadowed easily.

WB even delayed the Fantastic Beasts trailer that was supposed to come out today (probably because they known the video would be overshadowed).

Monday is very close and i'm sure it will be a way better timing to drop reactions to a movie than today / tomorrow.

4 straight days of people buzzing about the movie leading up to FSS and the walkups should be excellent

WB is going to have a flood of social media reactions and reviews all landing at the same time on Monday afternoon, followed the next day by fan hype, then two more days coasting on the (presumably very positive) reception. If they played their cards right, this thing could truly explode in its final week
