Super Pets Thu T-1 comps

 - Minions - .157x (1.689m)

 - Sonic 2 - .185x (922k)

 - Bad Guys - 3.133x (3.6m)

 - Lightyear - .343x (1.68m)

 - Paws of Fury - 9.097x (4.59m)

Gonna go ahead and throw out the two movies that had <100 sales so far.  The others look to be on good pace for around 1.5m preview

I don't have any kids comps for Friday for T-2, but other movies adjusted for a 1.5m preview are giving a true Friday around 4.4m.  Expecting a better growth rate than those movies (CBM/TG/JW) though.

Was looking for the budget because the 180M number was completely unsourced.

The movie cost $90 million to produce, so it’ll need to resonate with young kids (and comic-book lovers) to become profitable.

I see the editor was smoking crack

Peele’s UFO thriller, which opened last weekend to $41 million,

“DC League of Super-Pets” falls in between those films; it’s not a sequel to a mega-popular franchise like “Minions” but it’s based on Marvel lore so it’s not entirely new to audiences.

:slaphead: Marvel Lore? Uhhhhh.....I mean you'd think theyd do a google of even Wiki to see where it comes from. The editor was obviously doing something alright, but it wasnt his job.

I cant remember was I snarky in that post?  OH i was yea i ma annoyed with RT which is owned by WB suppressing neg reveiws,  it shoulod of been a 69% last night.  But they inflated it and then pretend its good.   ITs deceptive and I wel I have an invested that sort is tied to it.  Funny cause i have family very involved in the project .  Its quite amazing though the lack of buzz.

I have a feeling that movie theatres are in for a really rough couple months.

There's only a total of 5 movies that are opening wide in August (Bullet Train, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Fall, Beast, The Invitation).

Bullet Train could reach $30 million OW, but everything else could easily struggle to reach $10 million.

September is also bleak with only Barbarian, The Woman King, Pearl, Smile, Don't Worry Darling and Bros.

None of those will go over $20 million OW.

Could Halloween Ends (not till October 14th) really be the next movie to be able to get over $30 million OW?

Big yikes.

Don't Worry Darling has a slight chance of doing it
