Is Sony doing early screenings or fan events for Bullet Train?

Wouldn't be a bad idea to get the WOM out, but if they skip them then it wouldn't really inflate the preview numbers too much

There's a fair number of PLF screenings the Tuesday before release. Five of the theaters I track have them actually.

They've got selected theatres here in Ontario doing an Aug 2 screening.

II dont know I feel like kids have enough access to various mediums to consume entertainment that you cant just mail it in with an animation and have parents march their kids in.   Pandemic broke habits and routines.  They flat rejected :LY.  No i dont know it Pets fits the bill as a sorta  cash grab btu to me it really feel it is,.

It's sold a total of 10 tickets for all of Thursday and zero for Friday at a really popular theater near me. I wouldn't be shocked if it misses $20M at this rate.

Ticket sales data suggest a preview in $2M range, probably a double digit multiplier, so expecting a mid if not high $20s opening ($22-$32M range)

But because there doesn’t seem to much anticipation/fan rush, and it’s the last family/animated opening of summer, should leg out fairly well over the coming months. Maybe not quite to Bad Guys level (3.5x opening week), but enough longevity by default to push for $120M plus ($110-$140M or so)

If these comp blocks are programmatically generated anyway, would be nice to maybe get a linear difference from the same comp in the period being quoted. E.g.

I know I personally will sometimes scroll up and down and up like 5 times to see which direction each went in 😆

A % difference would probably be more relevant than raw change (and fwiw this is why I make graphs, because I just find it easier to absorb the data and trends visually)

I'm very curious to see where Super Pets winds up, because I could make reasonable arguments for it pacing ahead of or behind the comps, based on some nuances of the sales patterns (admittedly from very small numbers, which may skew the results)

Yes, at the moment it doesn't look good. If nothing changes even 25M could become difficult to reach.

The Beast tickets aren't on sale yet. But I'm looking forward to track it.
