Just got back from Beer Run. There were a couple of groans when the movie came up, and some people left. A lot of my audience liked it though, a lot of laughs.

I wonder how many refunds overall people ended up getting.

was the 25 on metacritic it launched with just critics being hacks?

Oh yeah. At the very least it's a solidly constructed film.  I don't see how you come out of this thinking it's one of the worst movies of the year along with stuff like Morbius, The Bubble, Firestarter, or even Man From Toronto.

Is there even any excitement among gay audiences for Bros? Don't know if it's due to weak marketing (it really does feel like Universal dropped the ball with this one in general), lack of major names attached, or something, but it's almost impressive that it seems to be arriving with so little fanfare.

From my friend group, yes. But the marketing hasn’t started here yet because for some reason Universal aren’t releasing it until 28th October. I still haven’t seen the trailer even once in cinemas.

I got it a few times before movies I saw over the summer (most notably Elvis). It was met with silence every time, though.

I was thinking that Halloween Ends was going to be something of an 'event,' but after three hours of sales at the Cinemark Sugarhouse in SLC, only two tickets out of 436 available have been sold for preview night. Maybe the day and date release and poor reception to Kills have really taken the wind out of its sails.

Others:

Bros (two screenings) -9 tix sold

Smile (two screenings)- 7 tix sold

Amsterdam (one screening)- 1 ticket sold

I’m in the UK, so our release date for Bros is a month later, that could be why.

Going to see Ticket to Paradise in half an hour, maybe the trailer will play before that.
