Current trajectory for The Batman is $380-410m. I hope HBO Max release won't effect on film's run that much and this new Batman will pass Wonder Woman as the third highest grossig film for WB (right behind two Dark Knight movies). :)

Being underestimated both domestically and internationally two weeks in a row 😎

I mean, this is the norm, right? Trying to get this reaction is exactly why studios deliberately lowball the ests…

hey, I’m their biggest fan! I’ve been lucky enough to have been to all the parks countless times and am an animation nut. Several of their hand drawn animated films are amongst my favourite films of all time.

However, none of those 200 million users would have unsubscribed if Turning Red hadn’t debuted on the platform. Many of them would have paid top dollar to see it in cinemas.  They’ve literally thrown money away in my opinion.

I think this will be the last time they do it with a Pixar film though. They looked at omicron in January and thought they needed to make a call. Made the wrong one, but hey ho.

My stance on ‘mega movies straight to Disney+’ around here is well documented ad nauseum by now.  So I shall say no more :)

It was a calculated risk because they weren’t sure about reception, definite fail I agree. Movie was awesome. Man those red pandas were HUGE

Regardless of it’s impact (VOD), I wish they waited couple more weeks for “Dog”. It’s probably (I hope) going to make 60-65 million $, which is way better than everybody thought.

I agree they should have waited, but ah well. It still did much better than expected and is a nice hit as you say. It's currently 5th in 2022. Good to see adults making their way back to theaters.

At currently 47.6m it is 4th highest domestic grossing original film post-2019, not counting animated (Old is based on book and is 48m). Technically 3rd because Gucci at #2 with 53.8m is a true story. 3.2x legs currently. Budget of apparently 15m. 53.4m WW. Nice for MGM.

Channing Tatum will also have another top 5 or 6 original film post pandemic as long as Lost City does not tank. Really impressive draw. (Ironically, he's also in Free Guy which remains #1 lol). Tenet 2nd with 58.4m.

Uncharted's hold has been great and that movie actually overtake GB:A cumulative total at the same point of release. Another week of amazing hold will put Uncharted ahead of GB:A final.

Uncharted this weekend is better than lot of similar movies including No Time to Die, Sonic, and just behind Venom(2021). If it shows Venom like legs from this point onwards, it can go upto 140+
