Doctor Strange is a factor but opening two weeks after a big family film cause at minimum Sonic should do $40m after a four month drought is a bad idea.

My real disappointment of this weekend is The Lost City. I was really hoping for a leggy run into the 100M.

It will break that break even point (it's just 185.5M) but not by much. 

 

It may be enough for Sony but it's still a commercial disaster and there won't be a Morbius sequel. We might only see him in other post credits and finally this middling Sinister Six team up

a 187.5m break even number  would imply a marketing budget of less than 20m which is just no feasible

Just noticed that in UK its release is even worse. Both Sonic and Bad Guys opened this weekend, and Bad Guys made 3M vs Sonic's 6.4M

Better OW is impossible imo. Ambulance looks like a mid-teens opener to me that will likely land in the 30-40M DOM final range. Morbius gets that with its OW alone.

 

Though i would be very glad if Ambulance somehow proves me wrong on that and breaks out.

At this stage, more likely in 90m range unless some crazy late legs kick in like Uncharted. Probably too many adventure-like movies lately suck out demand from the air a bit.

Yeah. I thought I saw some people here saying Sonic could go 60-70? Or am I imagining. 

I think if both Sonic and SoD could open over 60M, it would be fantastic.
