The back of IMAX make TG2 increase 30% from last day in Taiwan,Probably can hit 600m mark (it gross 433m now)overall, top 10 of all time in on the way

I thought Hong Kong and Taiwan are "supposed" to be part China that if not ban, should at least give TGM a cold shoulder? But it is obviously not the case, TGM basically blow up in both territories. Conversely, both TBALC and WW2 were either not released or subperformed. In Taiwan, it is even a nationalistic movement to see TGM. Without going too political, just to signal how different the ideology of both sides despite speaking the same language.

Hell,I just heard that in English culture,Marvick's meaning is equal to little cow?

There's a very old term that a maverick is a cow/bull without a brand on it but no, that's not what "maverick" means in this case.

plural noun: mavericks
  1. 1.
    an unorthodox or independent-minded person.

521m DOM

421m OS

20m weekdays + 29m weekend =49m

SK 14m

1.005b total.

It should reach 1b today.

Last week had a father day to boost in some countries to make 25% drop but seems like in key big markets this week like UK, France, Germany, Australia and Japan it will have a great hold (-10-20%) this weekend. Should be enough for at least 30% drop to compensate other.

From Deadline Hollywood

Paramount/Skydance’s Top Gun: Maverick has raced past the $1B mark worldwide, becoming only the second movie of the pandemic era to reach such rarefied air — and Tom Cruise’s first time to the milestone in a career that has spanned 40 years. It took just 31 days for the aviators to get to $1B with the total through Sunday at an estimated $1.006B worldwide, including domestic’s estimated $521.7M and $484.7M from the international box office.

International Breakdown

Total Until 06/26 (Sun), Japan ($51.1M/-15%), UK ($78.7M/-18%), Australia ($45.5M/-24%), France ($38.8M) &Germany ($23.4M)

Total - $44.5M / $484.7M (-26%)

Intl weekend was $39.7m last weekend. What was it this time around?

Edit: BOR confirms the $44.5m, so is the increase all from Korea or was last week underestimated?
