there's about 80k admissions from previews / sneaks included, so you have to subtract those from the number

Ok, IndustriousAngel answered you already. Not that you think we are stupid ;).
 

With the exception of The Big Short everything improved a little bit in the (corrected?) third trend: Ride Along 2 145k, Daddy's Home 80k, Creed 70k – so not dead but with problems.

Creed is definitely in deep trouble ... the low start was ok since it was only a limited release and the PTA was ok, however a 50% or worse drop in week 2 is not at all how a successful limited release should behave.

Actuals tomorrow but B&T3 seems to be on the upper end of estimates (370k for the weekend, #1 by admissions); Rev 330k (#1 moneywise), SW7: 205k (-35% ... 9mil total still possible I'd say)

It very much seems like it. It's either that or they took numbers that are completely off, but the latter doesn't sound as likely as them interpreting the 103 million number as the Euro-total, instead of realising that it already is the Dollar-total.

This weekend's nr1 was a nice surprise - usually those domestic kid movies are very reliable performers; B&T3's opening is something like an explosion in that respect - I expect somewhat shorter legs as a consequence but 1,5mil total should be safe and maybe there's even 2mil in play - too early to tell. Another domestic kids movie, "Hilfe, ich habe …", is nearing the 1mil mark too with a super hold; the usual target number for those releases. As to the other openers, Ride Along 2 and Daddy's Home have performed as expected while the Point Break remake is DOA.

Revenant's drop was ok but with the dropping PTA I think we've reached the end of the expansion, from now on drops should be a bit steeper. Still, great performance! Star Wars 7 dropped a bit harder but less than 40%, I hope from now on drops will be even softer so 9mil total are still possible!

 

Next weekend: Two powerful new releases - Hateful 8 for grown-ups and Alvin-Chipmunks-Road-Chip for the younger ones. With a lot of media coverage, H8 might go as far up as 500k and north of 2mil total (I don't think we should take Django's numbers as benchmark because Christoph Waltz was wildly popular by then). The last Chipmunks movie was popular, for nr.4 I expect something like 300k opening and 1,5mil total.

SW had a better 5th weekend than ROTK (203.965 vs. 201.657). That made 750K admissions after that. If SW can do this, 9M will happen

Would need to drop 31% next weekend to top it again.

 

Wouldn't have thought that "Hilfe, ich hab meine Lehrerin geschrumpft" plays that well. Seems a bit strange to me, more like a TV-movie.

Kids usually don't care much for the production budget, there's a lot of really cheap-looking stuff which they'll devour anyway (if you buy them a ticket).

9M admission for a fan-boy driven movie are pretty damn amazing. And such a result impressives even more in a country, where streaming movies illegally is a common way to watch movies, unfortunately.
