If as it seems Spain opens to 8-9 million I would say, at least, 40 million

I think OS opening is pretty much what was expected. Without the covid situation in China and world cup (which effects mainly Europe) global would have been more like $650m...

I'm trying to understand how a $300M debut is disappointing? Especially seeing how stable it's dailies have been in many markets and that the lucrative holidays are about to begin.. Like what lol

It's just disappointing to people who read that it was going to make $500M+ from the trades before the China collapse, or $600M+ from prognosticators on here who didn't know any better. 

The opening is good. Legs should still be 4-5x overall.

At least the few Japanese fans of Avatar can easily find good seats at IMAX 3D showings.

 

Unlike here in Turkey where this thing is selling like hotcakes in 3D:

Pretty much all the non-morning 3D showings in my province started with a similar occupancy rate. In a rare occurence, the distributor here actually revealed the opening day admission number-128K-which is not only 2,5 as much as Avatar 1's but it also eclipses Black Panther 2's entire opening weekend of 125K admits.

A lot of these numbers are great IMO with some wc impact. Main underperformers are obviously China, Japan and to a smaller degree UK and DOM so far.

 

No wc and normal china, this open 600M+ I'd say. Much less worried than I was a few days ago.

With China, Japan, DOM we all know they underperform. Exchange rates are not helping either, 3D ticket prices may counter it but I'm not sure to what degree. Some local currencies got heavily impacted this year vs USD

True, at same time I don't think anybody expect A2 to have BvS legs
