Good start to the non holiday season. This has been a fun run to follow. I don't want to get too excited as I did hear Canada was still in Holiday on Tuesday. Best to keep expectations modest and be surprised each day.

Agreed with the number and the overall feeling, but i wouldn't called it a come back down tbh

I heard PIB 2 comes to VOD already this Friday? 

 

I mean... we know it won't hurt it's legs but this is beyond ridiculous, the movie is doing strong business, why treat like a C Tier project?

I agree with your overall sentiment, but a $39m weekend off of an inflated holiday 3-day of $67.4 would be -42%. Really, really good hold for a 4th non-holiday weekend. Anything sub-45% is quite strong to me.

Because studios dont give a shit about theatrical business anymore. Big Blockbusters are another story, but smaller movies like Puss in Boots apply to that.

All Disney star wars films had strange weekend behaviors. For TLJ and TROS one could attribute that poor weekend bumps to poor wom but even TFA had measly Fri bumps post holidays.

Not VOD - PVOD. I think.  When it's still pay, it doesn't seem to affect box office as much DOM...

Yeah, but there's many numbers a whole lot higher than so that are thrown around in this thread. Anyway, I could easily see a few millions lower as well.

Ecstatic for PiB. Can definitely see 2M Thursday. Sing went 6.57x Thursday while Chipwrecked went 8.83x Thu. Sing comp is enough for 13M+, off just 22% from last week and BIGGER than OW lol. If by some miracle, it gets close to that Chipwrecked comp...
