Old men abandoning theaters is going to hit this franchise hard in the years ahead. If they still plan on making more movies after next year's, then they need to sit down and think hard about new ways to attract the new primary moviegoers, which are 20 to 30-somethings.

Henry Cavill’s character should’ve had a twin brother to bring back for Dead Reckoning.

Production on Part 2 isn't done, there's still time to work in changes. Can't see Cruise really bringing back Henry, though. Is Miles Teller busy once the strike is over?

Had totally forgotten the drama over Cavill's facial hair in Fallout and the horrible CGI in Justice League.

It was obvious, based on early tracking from the BOT team, that a TGM boost wasn't an actual thing.

People forget TGM caught fire on TikTok and broke out with gen z. It couldn’t have been so big otherwise. Like I said, the young demo I think is completely preoccupied with Barbenheimer at this point. Even I never saw it being this big of a vacuum and sinkhole for everything else.

Before people start spouting crap about how Paramount will cancel the next Mission Impossible or ordering reshoots, they won't, it's an important franchise to them and more importantly they want to keep sweet with Tom Cruise given how super profitable Maverick was for the studio.

Just a reminder than FALLOUT's Friday without previews was 16.8 million. ROGUE NATION's was 16.3. So I imagine by the end of this weekend it'll be where both of those movies were, plus 30 mil or so from the weekday shows.

The consistency in this franchise is fascinating when you adjust for inflation. MISSIONS 5, 6, and 7 are all gonna end up at about the same amount of tickets sold opening week. No one whose interest in Cruise was revitalized by MAVERICK bothered to check out MISSION unless they were already invested in the series. That sucks, but in a summer where DC, INDIANA JONES and TRANSFORMERS are selling a fraction the number of tickets they used to, it could be worse...

LOL. Never change BOT. Never change. Deadline estimate before West Coast night showings start and the movie is performing just like a Mission movie does. Disappointing it did not do a Skyfall like breakout but as so many have said the marketing did not really sell this as anything but a another Mission movie.  Another great well received movie but still just another movie.

This could also mean the Barbenheimer double feature thing may becoming way more of the “norm” for people next weekend than we think. It would explain why people aren’t willing to spend money on another movie before then.

Scheduling Oppenheimer after MI7 after Indy 5 was a gargantuan mistake. The 45+ yo man demo is DRAINED.

Some of the panic is frankly unnecessary,  it's been a consistent performer and while yes, the budget makes profitability difficult, it's just one of things which was not the fault of Paramount nor Cruise .

Look at Bond, Skyfall was the peak of the franchise domestically but then fell back to its normal levels although still a huge monster in its native homeland but yet MGM and EON aren't thinking of resting it, they're planning the next chapter.
