Come into my middle school classroom and you will see a loooooot of enthusiasm for it, which did surprise me when I first heard them starting to talk about it. I’ve been a little higher on it because of this, it should have more teen audiences than other horrors this year

I think M3GAN is going to be the most apt comparison for audiences. I saw that in the theatre, and there were groups of kids in the 10-12 age corridor. That was female oriented, while FNAF is more male driven, but both cases I think are going to serve as a lot of kids introduction to horror movies.

Just a heads up, Cineplex has upgraded their app.

I just downloaded the new version, and it's going to make my updates a lot harder to execute.

I'm going to play around with it a bit, but, I might have to change my approach, and may not be able to cover as many theatres.

Edit: It's worse than I thought. They no longer display the amount of seats sold or still available. I don't have the skill or patience of @Tinalerato do the manual counting.

I’m a bit confused about what the Renaissance film is going to be. It doesn’t sound like it’s going to be a pure concert film like TET. Definitely feels like they’re not maximizing its potential with some of the choices they’re making.

I mean...Even if the Beyonce tour "only" opens with say $50m, that would still be a huge hit. Not on the level of Eras tour, yes, but stuff like the MJ concert movie and Justin Bieber only did $70m total DOM, so it would still become the 2nd highest-grossing concert movie DOM. Perspective is important.

Either way, early December is always one of the deadest parts of the year, so it will surely help with that. Online fans arguing is not important, in the grand scheme of things.

50m is kinda an insane number i don't see renaissance film pulling that. i see it doing +20m max

apparently it's a documentary like the super bowl film or whatever where there'll be behind the scenes footage.

Will say that I have no idea how much fan rush/frontloading is going on but it has indeed already sold more than 60 tickets region wide in the now 2+ hours since sales went live.

That's.... That's not nothing, especially given it appears to be mostly a soft-launch at 9pm local time via mostly WOM on Twitter.  At least I think it was a soft-launch.

Gonna be real curious to see a full day's worth of sales numbers and how they compare/contrast to various films.

*checks again a few hours into Day 1*

Done setting up seats check:  388/7262 tickets sold.

For perspective, Five Nights at Freddy's has already passed the Day 1 of Scream VI (213 tickets sold) and is zeroing in on the first day of John Wick 4 (481 tickets sold).

Not saying this is breaking out, folks, but it's a really  good not-even-over-Day-1.
