As for Mean Girls, for some reason it seems like the MTC1 theaters around town haven't added any showings, so it wouldn't make much sense to start tracking it. Going to wait for them to add it before setting up sheets.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Thursday Previews

T-3

166 tickets sold

(1.307x) of Wonka $4.57M

(3.609x) of Migration ???

Terrible comps, I know. I've just started tracking so I dont have very good comps to put this against. If I had to guess, this will hit $3.5-4M in previews for a ~$20M opening. Legs should be good unless the movie is plain terrible.

Same case with my previous post. Bad comps. Migration is probably DOA. Could pull good legs like Puss in Boots 2, but I doubt it.

its more than a day(28 hrs ish worth of data), but this is something unprecedented. Probably still honing in on 20m OD unless final day walkups are not great.

Looking at various MTC1 theatres in NY and LA, this is actually selling pretty decently for tomorrow? Maybe a sign it will be a walk-up movie? I wonder if it’s good, if they are giving it this last minute sneak.

EDIT - hmmm, looks like Wednesday night preview showings have just popped up now too. They’re definitely trying to get word of mouth going for the weekend. But is it any good?!?!?

I was actually looking forward to Anyone But You when it was first announced since it would be nice to see Powell score a win as a lead and the director made some of the better comedies of the early 2010s but it's shaping up to be a total dump of a release that won't go anywhere between the botched and confused marketing campaign, unproven stars in the leads, poor release date, and a theatrical climate that clearly doesn't favor comedies right now. Hard to imagine it's going to make much more than Bros did at this point.

If you're talking about Easy A, he didn't write that. He did write Friends with Benefits though and that film is ridiculously boring

I was speaking specifically about movies he directed only. I actually liked FWB, no classic but certainly better than a number of the junky comedies made during that period where Hollywood was chasing that Hangover/Bridesmaids R-rated comedy money until that particular well had completely run dry.

I attempted to earlier this afternoon but it spit out a high number so I just left it out

hide GIF

($1.55m)

Note: No Hard Feelings had a great late surge here so I will try again on T-0

Mine would be at over $2 million so same lol... I think No Hard Feelings just had a super strong late surge a la Insidious where it makes most situations hard to compare it with.
