Have to admit I'm curious as to what the reviews for Trap will be like since it really doesn't seem like anyone is seeing this pre-release. Imagine if M. Night has inflicted another Lady in the Water/The Happening/The Last Airbender/After Earth upon us.

I watched Lightyear two years ago and don't remember a thing from it

Pretty sure 20 people who watched it in theater couldn't remember a thing from it two minutes after they left the theater.

Here is how Deadpool & Wolverine compares to other $200M openers

  • Deadpool & Wolverine - +3.7% MON-TUE ($25,3M)

  • Jurassic World -4% MON-TUE ($24,3M) [also the only other Summer $200M opener]

  • Infinity War - -5.7% MON-TUE ($23,4M)

  • The Last Jedi -6% MON-TUE ($20,2M) [tied Last Jedi, despite opening $9M lower]

  • The Avengers -6.5% MON-TUE ($17,6M)

  • The Force Awakens - -7% MON-TUE ($37,3M)

  • Endgame - -10% MON-TUE ($33,1M)

  • No Way Home - -15% MON-TUE ($31,4M)

  • Black Panther -48.1% MON-TUE ($20,8M)

Here is how Deadpool & Wolverine compares to other 600M total domestic grossers that opened below $200M

  • Top Gun: Maverick -53.5% ($15,8M) [Monday was Memorial Day so it was inflated]

  • Avatar - -1.8% MON-TUE ($16M)

  • Barbie - -0.4% MON-TUE ($26M)

  • Deadpool & Wolverine - +3.7% MON-TUE ($25,3M)

  • Avatar The Way of Water - +12.5% MON-TUE ($18,2M)

  • Titanic - +7.6% MON-TUE ($6M)

  • Incredibles 2 - +14.5% MON-TUE ($27M)

  • Inside Out 2 - +28.6% MON-TUE ($28,8M) [Just pure insanity]

Now of course growing looks good but then if a mega-opener grows on Tuesday, it means there was space to go higher on Monday and discounted tickets on Tuesday aren't hurting gross.

e.g. take an extreme example of Endgame. It did near $37M on Monday i.e. ~3.5M+ admits were sold, the highest it could have gone is maybe 4-4.5M? On Tuesday, it probably hit capacity with ~4.25M admits but since tickets were discounted, gross fell. Not much scope to grow for it on Tuesday in gross.

While for DP3

It did $24.3M on MON, selling maybe 2-2.1M tix out of maybe 4M doable. On Tuesday it probably sold 2.75M+ since it had the capacity to sell them.

Barbie comp  -77M .

TLK comp - 85M.

Thursday drop for TLK ( 12%) don't see that happening

Barbie 7.8% . That sounds about right.

Barbie IM -4.4*

TLK - 5.06*

Expect Thursday drop to be close to barbie's but weekend to play closer to TLK IM.

85-90M.

Secret Wars will make money, don't even need a trailer just a short teaser ending with Tobey, Evans, Hugh standing together against Downey in one frame.

It's Doomsday they need to worry about, they got their villain, but their Avengers are still missing.

Will RDJ be playing Victor Von Doom or evil Tony Stark?
