I think it can, but it really is gonna have to be as good or better than Skyfall and not half assed or a turd like QoS.

Skyfall was very good. It's no Casino Royale, but as far as I'm concerned, only one, maybe two Bonds stack up against it.

 

And it was sooooo pretty. Dat Deakins.

 

Also, I think this will do quite similar to Skyfall numbers overseas, maybe not quite as much domestically, but of course it always depends on how good the movie is.

I thought Skyfall was the best blockbuster of 2012. No idea where the next one will go, but that's kind of exciting.

This....I agree with this. Not only that, but it is my favorite Bond movie.

They called the organization "Quantum" in Quantum of Solace, but that could easily be retconned by saying it was just a cover name for SPECTRE, or that Quantum was just the name of that particular SPECTRE mission.

I'd like Quantum back as the villains, similar to how SPECTRE was absent from Goldfinger and then returned in Thunderball. There's no villain quite like a secret organization bent on world domination.

I would bet SPECTRE won't be in Bond 24, but we will probably get a tease at the end. Similar to the Moriarty tease in Sherlock Holmes or the Joker tease in Batman Begins.

Blofeld along with Jaws have been the only Bond villians to appear in more than one film, I think he could be reinvented but maybe not bald since he'd likely get compared to Lex Luthor.

Blofeld is also notable because he's the only character to be the main villain in more than one film (three). In fact he's basically considered to be Bond's archenemy and greatest enemy.

 

Personally I'd love to see him on the big screen again, but still bald. That's my preference though.

The only thing I will give Diamonds are Forever credit for is at least attempting to explain why Blofeld suddenly looks so different after OHMSS.
