There’s been a lot of discussion on KJ about how last Friday May have been underestimated because of some software funkiness. I think Corpse will revise its estimate upward to more like ¥320M

For comparison, tomorrow's MOVIX reservations are 10.3% higher than last Saturday. Would have added that to the post above, but had some connection issues.

And clearly Toho is WAY up versus last Saturday (probably over 50%), so a Saturday increase is looking very likely.

Using harry potter franchise as a reference, even if DS is the peak of the long running series from here (like how HP1 was the biggest among all franchise), we can expect at least another 5 movies over 20bn yen if every sequel decline from the last. 

 

Maybe by the end of 2029, we will DS franchise dominate Japanese box office rank

I don't think Miyazaki said anything wrong, its media made drama.

 

He simply said "it has nothing to do with him & he hasn't watched it, he is a retired old man"

 

What would have been wrong was if he said Demon Slayer isn't cinema but theme park though if he had said he would have more credentials to say that than certain other old man.
