03 (---) ¥252,100,000 ($2.3 million), 0, ¥343,164,900 ($3.2 million), I Want To Eat Your Pancreas (Toho) NEW
04 (03) ¥237,722,900 ($2.1 million), -29%, ¥2,301,751,400 ($20.8 million), Gintama (Warner Bros.) WK3

06 (---) ¥231,742,200 ($2.1 million), 0, ¥231,742,200 ($2.1 million), Tokyo Ghoul (Shochiku)

Despicable Me 3 easily claimed a second week atop the box office, and delivered an excellent drop in the process. The third entry in the Despicable Me series is outpacing every Illumination film after two weeks in release, up 12% compared to Minions, and after such a strong second weekend, it's very likely on track to become the studio's highest-grossing film in the market. Expect a total north of ¥5 billion ($45 million), and I wouldn't rule out a ¥6 billion ($50 million) total either.>

The Mummy achieved a solid second place debut, selling 220,615 admissions over the weekend frame across 574 screens; it sold 294,003 admissions since opening on Friday. Tom Cruise is arguably the biggest Hollywood draw ever in Japan, and this opening is further evidence to this claim considering its lackluster reception. Expect a total around ¥2.5 billion ($20 million+).

>I Want To Eat Your Pancreas settles for third place, selling a solid 189,976 admissions over the weekend frame across 322 screens; it sold 262,586 admissions since opening on Friday. The live-action adaptation of the novel of the same name is likely to have great legs, as most within the genre (tearjerkers) typically benefit from. Expect a total around ¥2 billion ($17/18 million).

>Gintama continues to hold well and will shortly become Warner Bros. highest-grossing film of 2017. The live-action adaptation of the popular manga/anime has exceeded 1.7 million admissions after three weeks in release. Expect a total around ¥4 billion ($35 million).

>Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is still performing pretty well and became the fifth entry in the franchise to exceed the ¥5 billion blockbuster milestone; it has sold over 3.6 million admissions after five weeks in release. Expect a total around ¥7 billion ($60 million+) or a bit higher.

>Tokyo Ghoul came in a very disappointing sixth place, and failed to deliver an opening that's representative of its popularity in other mediums (most notably, manga sales). The live-action adaptation of the very popular source material only sold 165,876 admissions over the weekend on 306 screens. Expect a total around ¥1.5 billion ($12/13 million). >Pokemon: I Choose You! fell slightly above the standard set by its predecessors in their third weekends, but its third weekend and three week total are higher than every film since 2012. Expect a total around ¥3.5 billion ($30 million).
