IM2 went up 6% on Father's day in 2010, but that is about all I can find. I'm thinking more like a 4-5% decrease for TA for today.-edit-Star Trek also went up 15% on Father's day in 2009.

It's not a disaster. However, if a 60% second weekend drop against two turd new releases is not a disaster, then a 59% second weekend drop against two successful new releases is most certainly not a disaster, either. Yet, there were more than a few people who implied or directly said that it was exactly that in the case of SWatH.

SWatH is a completely different genre than Prometheus, a genre that should be having considerably better drops than a sci-fi horror movie. I wouldn't call SWatH's drop a disaster, but I have no problem saying it was much more of a surprise than Prom's 60% drop. A 60% drop is perfectly expected for Prom's genre. Cloverfield, a movie which did not have bad WOM, had a 68% drop.

CLOVERFIELD's WOM was pretty mixed. I wouldn't call it good.

I seem to remember more of Cloverfield's backlash taking place on the Internet after it left theatres, but either way I don't think there's any way you can say Prometheus' WOM is any worse.

I'm at my in laws right now but a quick update. I saw TMB, well sort of. Its worse than Jack and Jill. I couldn't take it after 35 minutes. Its awful and I hope it drops 75% next weekend.

I got that from the trailers. I wouldn't sneak into that movie.

The Avengers increasing on Sunday? That's a VERY gutsy estimate...

My son tried to take me to see TA (for the 7th time) today for Father's Day, but the late afternoon matinee show was Sold Out. How could a movie that's been out for 7 weeks be sold out?!? Amazing.
