No they didn't.

And I agree. People are just lacking good will towards them here. What they've said is that it is in the same ballpark, which means they are enthusiastic about their film, I guess they should write an apology letter for those that want this film to fail so desperately.

This is me analysing this stuff as an apprentice of reading this and trying to stay as objective as possible, and I can see this film having legs and attracting a different crowd than TDKR and other releases, both can coexist and still have crazy box office numbers.

How's that working out for you?

How's that working out for you?

You are experienced with this more than me. If you dropped the bias and stopped acting like an ass, you would agree that there's a logic in what I'm saying. The shot it has to make more than $300m is getting a first week of $150m, the shot of making more than that is getting something above $170m, and to foresee a scenario where $400m is more than possible, it's likely, $190m-$200m. I seriously can't understand what the big deal is?Pirates 4 came out last year and shitted its way to a mere $240 million domestic, which is exactly what I predicted this to do (though ASM is LEAGUES better than Pirates 4) end of story. Overseas will be big. In the end we get what I'm most excited for, TASM2 with... Ahh... It's delicate storyline that I'm banking on.

Didn't transformers make 27m on tuesday? Yeah so no 120m is definitely not the max. For all we know it'll increase 20% tomorrow.

Unfortunately, it's not that cut and dry. Transformers had $8.8m worth of previews on Monday, bringing its total up to Tuesday to $36.6m. Transformers then made $27.9m on Tuesday, which is roughly a 20% decline from Monday previews+Tuesday. I'm expecting the same here if it's this frontloaded to midnights, for a Wednesday of $21.6m (or a 10% increase from Tuesday day business).Of course, that's from expecting a $27m OD.

I'm NO Box Office specialist, but you're reading these numbers wrong, and I've learned that with The Avengers. July blockbusters naturally have better weekdays, and most of all, July 4th releases are different beasts. In order to understand the box office of these days, you need to look the big picture. Imagine that it just stays flat, with shorter drops up until sunday. We get $150m? Well, that's a 2x multiplier and with good legs it'd certainly cross $300m and then some. We get sexy $170m-$190m? Well, with good legs it has some real shot at $400m. With $190m-$200m, $400m is happening.

I get the feeling you're trying to hypnotize me here.

So let me get this straight. If TASM does 27 Million OD with Midnights, that is somehow not good when this is the 4th Film of the franchise? and the last movie wasn't very loved? Sorry can't give some of you that. This is clearly proving Spidey is bigger than we could of thought that a roboot some 5 years, Not 8 like Batman or 20 like Superman is able to still bring people out is good. Also comparing TDKR or TA to this I don't know. It's not like Tobey and Rami came back, this is a whole new team. I think Spidey is off to a good start. You know the bar is high when 250 is considered a failure for a reboot.
