If you are going to lie, make it a halfway believable  lie

Everybody in Hollywood knows Barbie was greenlit and in pre production before Zaslev took over, and was probably too far along for him to cancel without throwing a lot of money down the tube and aleinating a lot of talent.

Zaslev is fooling nobody with that comment.

Are you being purposefully daft? That’s not a real quote

I think WB's remainder of 2023 is looking strong with Dune Part II, Wonka and potentially The Color Purple although I suspect that will make the majority of its money in 2024. Meg 2 could also surprise.

That lineup looks like the Warner Bros. of old.  Hopefully James Gunn gets DC on track and I think Reeves will do fine with 'The Batman II"

This makes a lot of sense, this year has been flop after flop, each movie flopping harder than the last one.

I can see Amazon or Apple buying DC with no problem

Problem being WB ain't gonna be selling DC in the near future, if ever.

I detect a big  anger that WB just had a huge "woke" (whatever the hell that means) hit with "Barbie".

DC makes a lot of money for WB, Batman alone is enough to keep it.

Aquaman was a rock solid thrill ride, how the fuck did they screw up the sequel THAT BAD? Already has taken far too long. Just horrific mismanagement.

Let's see how it does before writing off Aquaman 2.

The decision was made they did not want to go head to head last year against another Underwater themed movie last HolidaySeason (Avatar 2) And Covid set everything back  before that.

WB should be sitting in a prime position to reclaim the throne from Disney as MCU, Pixar, and lucasfilm fizzles.

They should have mega global Franchises in Barbie, The Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Dune, and Wonka rolling through the next few years while they get Superman and other DC characters properly off the ground.

They should have premiere filmmakers in Christopher Nolan, Matt Reeves, Dennis Villanueve, Greta Gerwig, and James Wan at their finger tips.

They should Gen Z faves Robert Pattinson, Margot Robbie, Tim Chalamet, Austin Butler, Jason Momoa, Zendaya, and Jacob Elordi leading or being groomed to lead their films into the future.

Mind you...they still do have many of these things. But mismanagement of Nolan, Aqua/Wonder Woman, and Gerwig & Wan to a lesser extent is a rough, rough look.

I, for one, think that they hold the Christmas release date and delivery a decent or better film, we are looking a good $700m+ global hit which would be tremendous.

But that it feels in question is just ridiculous tbh.

“WB has great filmmakers like James Wan” - WB let’s Wan make Aquaman 2 “Why would WB mismanage Aquaman 2 so bad?”

No doubt studio interference. Wan is a good filmmaker. Unless he truly pulled a Patty Jenkins WW84 and made an outright dud], but feels unlikely.
