7th January or 14th January would be perfect but I don't expect anything from China so i'm not disappointed.

I think 7th and 21st are the only options in January since Matrix is releasing on the 14th. But even a March release wouldn't be terrible. Any money is better than $0.

As Chinese Distributor MediaLink reports, it has licensed Jujutsu Kaisen Movie 0 to debut in China. Now, it's probably has a chance to go over Demon Slayer.

Overseas Licence for Asia goes to ODEX, while Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan will be distributed by MUSE.

Big Start for Japanese Film at China

Someone please teach me how to embed facebook page.

Step 1: Go to this site https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/embedded-posts/ and you will be greeted with CODE GENERATOR tab.

Step 2: Put URL of whatever post you wanna embed into it and then simply click the check mark button to get "full post". So it refreshes the link and you can see the post there itself.

Step 3: Press "Get Code", you will get two codes.

Step 4: Ignore JavaScipt and just copy the Iframe one.

Step 5:  Whenever posting to Box office theory forum, Don't paste that code directly but put it through Source (button on left corner)

Step 6: That's how i do it... anyway

First China-Pakistan animated coproduction to hit theaters in Chinese mainland as emblem of friendship

Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor, the first animated movie jointly made by Chinese and Pakistani artists, held its premiere in Beijing on Sunday ahead of its release in Chinese mainland cinemas on December 25. The film's arrival is seen as one of a number of events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.

Pakistani Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque gave a speech at the premiere.

The ambassador said that the movie, the first China-Pakistan animated coproduction, is significant in light of China-Pakistan's 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties. Markhor, or screw-horned goat, is the national animal of Pakistan just like the giant panda is for China, so the film not only promotes Pakistani culture but teaches children how to protect wild animals and nature.

"Exchanges and connections between the two countries are solid," the ambassador noted. He hopes that in the future, there will be more Pakistani movies launched on screens in China, introducing Pakistani culture to Chinese people and helping strengthen connections between the peoples of the two countries, including future generations.

The ambassador led the audience at the premiere to shout out "Ba tie!" which means "Pakistan is good friend of China."

Directed and written by Pakistani filmmaker Uzair Zaheer Khan, the film created with funding from China's National Film Board was worked on by Chinese animators and Chinese scriptwriter Xin Xiaohan, who attended the premiere.

The movie was inspired by an ancient tale that takes place along the boundary of China and Pakistan. According to the tale, whoever saves a markhor can gain the ability to communicate with animals and will become a guardian of the forest, Xi'an Bailu Fenghe Productions, the Chinese production company that worked on the film, told the Global Times.

The animated production follows the story of Allahyar, a young and curious boy who ends up dealing with difficult circumstances in the northern mountains of Pakistan. In a series of events, Allahyar tries to save a markhor from hunters, and also makes friends with other animals such as a snow leopard after he is rewarded with the ability to speak to animals.

Liu Chun, manager of the China Film Co-Production Corporation, said at the premiere that it took four years to make the movie and the work is a rare example of a Chinese co-produced animated movie.

Audience members at the premiere were positive about the film, telling the Global Times that the film is of high quality and that they highly recommend it.

The movie debuted in Pakistan in February 2018 and has a 7.7/10 on IMDb. It won the Prestigious Monolith Award for content at the Infinity Film Festival, held at Beverly Hills, California.

Another day down without a 'No Way Home' release date...

:whosad:

Diplomatic relations are at worst. And at present, CFA is looking for more release from Asian Countries like Filipino's Hello, Hi, Goodbye, Japanese's EVA, JJK and Conan.....more correctly non-English films. Western Works more like US production (especially Marvel/Disney) will have great difficult in entering Chinese Market.

The Marvel ban continues to be real until proven otherwise.

It's an unofficial ban due to cultural conflict, inaccurate history, provoking ancient legendary stories............. this list will never end.

I will be looking release for non-English films. Asian Films are just getting chance to change their fate in releasing their respective works in the biggest market, Mainland China.

What I dont understand is why the weibo account where the gov posts keeps posting some stuff about no way home. It just gives false hope to fans

Same with the official spiderman weibo account:

it just dont make sense, if the movie will not be released, then why keep advertising it?

False Promises and playing with public love, is a game 🎯. I really feel bad about it

Like always, I would say that unless US cares about their films, unless their Disney/Marvel cares about Cultural and National laws at China, Unless Sony can not explain itself as an single license holder of NWH....... Unless Sony doesn't provide an explanation that they are different from Marvel.....Till then NWH will not get a release date.....All those wholesome also can be care off if Diplomacy are ready to clean out their wrong action

Ok that explains why the gov account posts about it, but the official spider man account? They should stop posting unless they have a comfirmed date

also if Marvel and Disney have problems, what could happen to Shanghai Disneyland?

At this point if its is released It will get the worst release date or 6 months after its debut, like jungle Cruise

But why though?

It's because of mocking Chinese culture, including Persona grata in their films as their casting.........this list will never end. NWH doesn't seem to have any problem but it just doesn't have a release date due to boycott of 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics by its home country "US" and also because of "Marvel" logo in the film. Sony actually can solve this in a day by removing "Marvel" logo but their home country has already taken much disaster steps like diplomatic boycott on Winter Olympics, sanction on human rights..... Making the film struck forever...
