A Marvel Fanboy
Looking at next year, hobbit 2 wont have an easy 2nd weekend. 5 movies that has appeal to all ages are releasing. • Anchorman: The Legend Continues (Par.) - 12/20 • Last Vegas (CBS) - 12/20 • Monuments Men (Sony) - 12/20 • Saving Mr. Banks (BV) - 12/20 • Walking with Dinosaurs (Fox) - 12/20 Anchorman will be big and so will probably the dinosaurs movie. Anchorman and Pixar, DoS is fucked ...

TLK
^^^ Exactly right. Three movies will make more money than two movies. I hated it when they split Hobbit into three but it is what it is.
Neo
If this ends up being true, then I can't imagine Jackson deep down would be very happy about this not to mention the studio who opted to support Jackson in making the HOBBIT 3 movies??? Its also based on OS numbers. Look at POTC and TASM made less than that and the studios are moving ahead with sequels.

Ins't also about total boxoffice? Xmas 2009 showed we can have 3 40M+ in one weekend + TBS.
Poseidon
So could anybody explain, why Anchorman 2, a sequel to a nearly 10 year old summer comedy, that didn't even do 100m then, would be a "danger" for Hobbit 2s 2013 Christmas-run? Fake
We can guess its probable finish from Friday itself. If it gets over 12.5m, it should clear 300m comfortably.
