The promo for next week hints that Dany is going to take another step down the backslide to Targ madness megalomania with her ultimatum to defenseless prisoners of war.

I'm just waiting for Jon to realize that the best way to convince people of the threat is to....you know, present some actual proof.

I hope she goes on her own terms. All these Jamie/Arya killing her theories are weak. I want a grand, full-blown Shakespearean end to Cersei.

Jamie killing her would be Shakespearean. But to anybody else killing her, it would be fucking ridiculous. I actually hope she goes out on her own terms but we all know she won't. The only person that's had a genuinely dignified death and went out completely on her own terms was Olenna. There's no way that's gonna happen to Cersei. She's too mad and has pissed off way too many people for that to happen.

I feel bad for Bronn losing his coins and wtf at Jaime drowning in a bottomless puddle lol

Did he drown? It's a cliffhanger. Considering bullet-dodging going on in the episode, someone's likely going to pull him out on Sunday, lol. Smart money's on Bronn or that guy who saved him on the battlefield. Or even Dany might to take him her prisoner, make him bend the knee, lololol. Have Drogon lift him up.

There's nothing weak about Jaimie killing Cersei theory because the prophecy stated that her little brother will kill her. And she's the older sister to Jaimie (younger twin) and Tyrion (baby of the family). So it's a toss up between those 2 brothers. Prophecies on this show are always fulfilled so one of bros will do the deed, which is Shakespearian itself. But it gotta be jaimie cause it's a full circle for him and her.

As for Arya, her character arc will probably have a conclusion where she spares someone from her list and thus puts the end to revenge. It could be Cersei, it could be Hound, whom she already spared although she thought she was just letting him die painfully but we know better. She couldn't kill him. Reunion will be interesting.

^ Jaime actually seems quite sensible and honourable apart from his hopeless addiction to Cersei.

I think he is not beyond redemption, wouldn't be surprised if he didn't end up one of the last men standing when all is done.

I think the show version of the prophecy is just that her kids will die and then will come a younger queen to take her place (Margery, Dany). I don't remember any mention about her brother killing her.

I agree and think that the writers are screwing him over right now because they want to stretch Cersei's presence as long as they can (which is past the point of realistic already, her camptastic antics being tremendous fun aside). He should have turned his back on her right after the Sept of Baelor went poof with half of the city with it. Kill her cause she was clearly Mad King 2.0. But plot conventions plus they need an opponent for Dany until she learns there's another Targeryan.

That said, he's getting redemption-through-love-for-Brienne, whether he stays alive all the way to the end of the show or not. It's not only established on the show that they love each other, but showrunners and actors confirmed it in interviews. And that trope is the most popular in the world so it will play out in some way.

@Joel M I can't remember either but it make sense from narrative POV that Jaime does her in. It makes zero sense from narrative POV for her to go down some other way (Arya's revenge, blaze of glory - lol, Dracarys - just NO!, etc).

How do you prove that there's an army of dead men without actually taking people to see an army of dead men?  Sure, you could wop off a wight's head and bring it with you but then it's just going to look like some dead guy's head you wopped off.

Nah, Cersei killing herself would be against the vengeful bitch who won't let even the most radical circumstances (i.e. when Tommen banned trials by combat) get to her all show long. I don't like Cersei, but she is a very strong and very well written (and fascinating) character, and I feel that wouldn't be good enough of a pay-off, even to her fans.

Jaime killing her would be the most sense making, but I feel waaaayyy too predictable. Arya killing her also would be predictable, but I feel would be the coming together of the full circle of not just Arya's arc, but also of vengeance by the Starks that started when Ned was beheaded in front of Arya and Sansa in S1. Jamie could still turn on Cersei before Arya killed her, if anything.

One thing's for sure: I still would like the suicide ending better than Dany burning her alive. To let someone who hasn't had any kind of suffering by the Lannisters just come in and hog the spotlight would be cheap (and I like Dany, despite her spiked up arrogance this season).

You have some guys capture a wight, restrain it, and ship it south?

Would that work?  With the exception of the one at the Wall in season 1, wights really only seem to come alive from the Walkers (and seem to be controlled by them).

The magic seems to require the Walkers intent (almost as if they're warging into hundreds of corpses at one moment).

Yeha, fuck Dracarys executions, the most unsatisfying of them all, cause they always happen to people whom Dany met 5 minutes ago.

Arya's arc would be actually completed if she finally got a chance to kill Cersei but decided against it cause Cersei is so pitiful the way she is now (all kids dead, Jaime fucking her out of habit but actually being in love with Brienne, etc). Arya bailed out of killing The Hound with an excuse that he would die anyway but painfully but we know better. They bonded so she couldn't. So there is a set up for her to spare Cersei out of pity. Not that it would likely come to that cause Arya opted to return home over her revenge against cersei so wheels are turning in the direction of slowly letting it go.

@4815162342 That's a great suggestion because they knew about WW and the dead from stories. So it wouldn't be like :wtf: is that thing if they caught and brought one. Especially after the dragons made a return to Westeros. If one myth is proven true than better believe the next one.

@El Panda Machos But aren't they "alive" once WW raise them, no matter where they are? Therefore, if one was caught beyond the wall and taken to KL, it wouldn't keel over far from WW, it would remain undead and kicking.

In fairness, Dracarys spearing through dozens of fools (as sad as the poor bastards were for just being aligned w/the wrong people at the wrong time regardless of personal guilt) is some amazing shit, but using it as a device for executing important characters is indeed rather meh. It was cool with the slaver dude, but only because it wasn't instadeath (some suffering came before he succumbed) and they set that one up very well.

Ehh, I get where you're coming from, but unlike w/The Hound, Arya has zero pity for Cersei regardless, so I don't think she'd hesitate if she was allowed to be given the death blow. Plus, I feel it would just be a more fitting end to the Starks vs. Lannisters story that has been a thing since... hell, since S1 E1 when Jaime pushed Bran down that tower.

Not positive, I don't think it's ever been clarified.  I've interpreted them as a hive minded species.

I assume that a wight does not need proximity to a WW once activated.

Would be a real stinker if they went through all that work to catch one just to find out they have a limited Wi-Fi range.
