StarSaber
I can't even fucking imagine what that would have been like if I hadn't read the books. My head pretty much exploded.
StarSaber
I imagine pretty much like how I felt/reacted: Spot on. Although my reaction also included a river of tears interrupted by frequent bouts of catatonia...
Michael Gary Scott
Wonder how this will change Arya she has basically witnessed her parents and brother executions
4815162342
That image should be a spoiler, some people havent watched the episode yet This is the thread meant to discuss the TV show, if we're not allowed to discuss an episode right after it airs here then where can we? Movies have their review forum, with spoilers allowed from the minute the first person sees it, same rules here once the episode airs. 4815162342
Wonder how this will change Arya she has basically witnessed her parents and brother executions Arya in the books is substantially hardened and cynical compared to the Arya of the show prior to this episode. For example in the books the whole three deaths thing with Jaquen plays out differently and Arya/Gendry/Hot Pie escape from Harrenhall on their own and Arya nonchalantly murderizes a guard in her way. Now show-Arya is going to catch up to Book-Arya in anger/moral grayness/etc.
Lordmandeep
Lol the scene was actually graphic... The scene were Robb's wife gets stabbed in the stomach and when Cat gets her throat did not leave my mind last night. The scene played in my head from when the song started till the credits...I don't think I want to ever watch that scene again.

JJ-8
omfg! I too had heard something big happened to the starcs... I've never read the books so didn't see it coming though i thought something was gonna happen... it was all going too smoothly... how sad is it really for catelyn... as far as she is concerned, her husband died, her 2 youngest boys had died at winterfell. and she has no idea on the state of her daughters - both captive or dead and then we watches her first born be killed.... hence why she gave up.... she thought she had nothing left... if only she knew

I said that because in some countries that episode airs tonight, but you are right, in many countries this show is aired at the same time with the US and people need to talk about what just happened and to know they are not the only ones feeling like "What the fuck just happened" And like i said before, in my case am gonna be afraid of weddings after such a scene
Lordmandeep
lol the reason why the RW is such a shock is because it goes against all storylines you think of.. A great injustice happened when Ned was killed and retribution needed to be done but no it was not to be.
acsc1312
I had no clue what the red wedding was, so I assumed it was gonna be something with the lannisters. I was so wrong
Lordmandeep
Yep the reactions will still come as the millions who watch this show online will be watching it now. My poor sister she has no idea what is going to happen. Its such a sad scene and I knew it was coming, cant imagine for the casual fans. lol Edited June 3, 2013 by Lordmandeep
Jim Shorts
From Time Magazine's recap, for us non readers, explains what the Starks were doing when they first got to the Frey's. I have no quibbles with the way the Red Wedding was adapted from the books, but for non-readers, one aspect that was underemphasized here was the ceremonial offering of bread and salt when the Starks and Tullys arrive as guests. In the books, this is not just a symbol of hospitality but essentially a religious offering: to harm a guest once they’ve eaten your bread and salt is an unholy abomination. In the book, in fact, Catelyn urges Robb to eat as soon as the arrives at The Twins, to ensure this protection; I wonder if it was cut so as not to foreshadow the ending too heavily.Read more: http://entertainment.time.com/2013/06/03/game-of-thrones-watch-so-close-so-far/#ixzz2VAdoNWoN
