Beauty and the Beast earned another $2.9 million at the domestic box office yesterday, bringing its domestic cume up to $435.6m in just 26 days. That puts the film in 14th place on the domestic charts, between E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial ($435m counting reissues) and Shrek 2 ($441m in 2004 and sans 3D). By the way, since it past The Hunger Games ($408m in 2D five years ago) last week, it is now the biggest earner ever in North America for the month of March.

Speaking of overseas, the film earned another $6.8 million outside of North America for a new $557.3m overseas total and a new $993.2m worldwide sum. That means, barring a fluke, the film should be crossing $1 billion worldwide today

Is $500m still in play?

While the audience is different and BatB has now been out for a month will FotF hurt this due to screen loss more than anything else?

Considering it's weekend drops so far have been 48%, 50% and 48% I don't think it's gonna put in those continuous mid-30% drops it needs sooner than later, while the numbers are still significant. I think like Dory it's looking at 485+. The weekdays have been good but weekend drops have been on the bigger side - except for the 2nd weekend, where 48% after a a 175 ow was actually a great hold. But it couldn't improve on that subsequently.

With The Fate of the Furious coming up, no. That's going to take away any non-family viewers that BATB had.

Still in play for sure but looks like it will crawl past. May need some Puerto Rico fudge to get there.

If BATB follows Cinderella's multiplier from its 4th weekend, it gets to $509,979,940. If it follows Jungle Book's 4th-weekend multiplier, it gets to $504,739,387.
