GiantCALBears
Since it already opened way bigger than they expected, I'm not sure they care that much, honestly.Yes they do dude, these studio executives are some of the most greedy SOBs on the planet. To see it dropping hard will gtd Synder's departure, among other changes in MOS 2 I'm sure

To see it dropping hard will gtd Synder's departure, among other changes in MOS 2 I'm sure Let's say it ends up making $290-300m. That's basically where everyone had it pegged (or higher). It doesn't particularly matter if it makes that off a $116m opening or an $80m opening. If anything, the fact it's frontloaded means the studio gets to keep an even-greater percentage than it otherwise would've. aliadiere29
I'll see how Man of Steel performs this weekend before I make any judgement of its legs. I suppose it was a risky time to release a reboot of Superman film.

To be fair, though, a 3.8 multiplier would make it far more likely the second one would see a respectable increase.

zenithtim
MoS' OW was amazing, but the performance of the movie since then has been beyond terrible. And some people are still trying to argue: "Oh, but it has good WOM!". That's silly. The critics' reviews were right on the money, the movie is the definition of mediocrity and sub-par in every department not called action.

Lordmandeep
WWZ was a entertaining film and an interesting addition to Zombie film genre. It was like watching 2012 and Walking Dead at the same time.

Impact
Well I still love BOM and still go to the IMDB quite a bit :PAnyway, hopefully I will see MU soon. WWZ might actually be a fun film upon reading about it. I thought it was going to be another stupid zombie film (The only zombie film I like is Zombieland, unless if you include I am Legend)
RthDeadWov
Here is the attendance figures for DC movies, according to Mojo: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/franchises/chart/?view=main&id=dccomics.htm&sort=date&order=DESC&adjust_yr=1&p=.htm 9 Superman Returns WB 30,546,700 10 Man of Steel WB 26,458,200 Basically, MoS needs 4M more tickets to overtake Returns (as of yesterday). Quick calculation says the magic figure to overtake Returns is 241M which should be reached after this weekend. kitik
Early Tuesday report: Just got back from the theater, the place was bat shit crazy packed! When I got there, they had lines cordoned off way out the door. I went to see The Purge, sat next to a 6-7 year old boy and his 10 year old sister. Perhaps they planned to go there, perhaps they went because MU was sold out. (Their mom sat in the row behind us, I offered to switch, but she didn't want to. And the little kid was like "point your gun at that guy" all through the movie. He had no problem with it, he was having fun. Go figure) My showing of The Purge was about 90% full, I had to sit down in the lower floor seats. Anyways, for comparison, on Friday night this theater had 1 sellout for WWZ and 1 sellout for MU. Tonight, on discount Tuesday, they had the following sellouts: 1 - F&F 6 2 - This Is The End 1 - NYSM 2 - WWZ 7 - Monsters U And I left the place at about 9:30, there may be one or two additional sellouts later on. And like I said, even something like The Purge was 90% full. Crazy busy tonight.

Obviously that's lower and below F6 with the 3D, but is it safe to say its above 24-25M? Or is it drastically wrong?
