Stop making excuses. Views are views. Sony is also playing the full trailer on TV and its getting millions of eyes. God when you guys dont like something, yall sure try hard to dig out all the negatives you can, when the positvies are sitting right on the surface.

This could break any kind of record, but since its not from a comic book and has Sandler, itd be excuses galore instead of just giving the movie some props. Get over it.

I'm thinking $180-200 million DOM. This looks like the sole family-friendly crowdpleaser for all of August. Plus, 34+ million trailer views pretty much locks $100 million DOM. This isn't a frontloaded type film.

Seriously, the exact same trailer with say, Joel McHale or Nathan Fillion would have had the internet creaming their collective pants. Instead, every single thing about this is dismissed as "Well, trailer views count for nothing" just because it has an actor the internet hates.

Yup, and the people giving the trailer a chance and saying that trailer views mean that there is interest are not spouting 200-300M either. I think this will open to above 50M (could do 70 but has to share release dates with 2 other movies) and leg it to 150M or so. Not exactly outside the realm of possibility.

Honestly I always thought the concept Pixels had potential, and as much as that trailer didn't make me laugh, I don't doubt that the film's box office potential to be huge.

They won't move Pan to Christmas because then it'll only get slaughtered by Star Wars. And it probably will be overshadowed in July too. That movie seems kinda screwed no matter since there aren't any spots open that aren't typically reserved for studio dumps.

I'd say they should move it to February of 2016, like they did with Jupiter Ascending. Considered how the family audience has repeatedly shown up on the first weekend of February, that would be a beneficial move.
