kitik
First Monday drop MU -52,5% TS3 -51.3% DM2 -55,6% Seems like DM2 should have been a little less "weekend heavy" since it was a Wednesday opening.
JarJarBinks
The actual won't be in for a little bit still, but WB's Man of Steel MON estimate from earlier this morning is $1.265 m. Total up to $272.453 m.
ban1o
Mmm that's a little bit of a larger drop than I though DM2 would have. Still really good though! Edited July 9, 2013 by ban1o
mahnamahna
So DM2 is a wee bit frontloaded - it still has a relatively decent chance at $375-$400 million which would be phenomenal considering its budget. Still hoping MU inches past $300 million! Nice for The Heat... hope it gets past $150 million!
Ezen Baklattan
Brave dropped 54% on this same Monday. It's pretty natural for most films to drop a bit more than usual on Summer Mondays in the weekend following Independence Day.
Gopher
It'll probably go up 15%-ish today. Seems to be a rough Monday for everybody.
baumer
Guys, this is the first Monday, nothing is going to be frontloaded or backloaded or anything at this point. It's the first few days after a long weekend. The numbers are going to be pretty normal imo. A better comparison is 2002: http://boxofficemojo.com/daily/chart/?sortdate=2002-07-08&track=meninblack2.htm
