Neo
NEW TOP 5 PICKS FOR DIRECTOR Brad Bird Phil Lord & Chris Miller Joss Whedon Colin Trevorrow Luc Besson Edited December 17, 2014 by Neo
Blankments
NEW TOP 5 PICKS FOR DIRECTOR Phil Lord & Chris Miller uhh no Darren Aronofsky don't think he'd fit Matt Reeves maybe, I think after doing part 2 of PotA, he wouldn't be interested in doing a threequel Anthony and Joe Russo need to see Captain America 2 first Francis Lawrence he'll be busy with Mockingjay Part
4815162342
If Jack Bender had film experience I'd totally nominate him for this since he's from the JJ crowd (having directed a bunch of episodes from shows JJ helped created) and he knows how to direct powerful character moments which is what Star Trek really revolves around (the Enterprise family dynamic). For example, pretty much every great Lost episode you can think of was directed by him. Edited December 21, 2013 by 4815162342
RobinHood26
My choice for this would be Andrew Stanton.
Jonwo
Stanton would be good, John Carter did show hugs potential as a live action director but with some guidance from JJ. He could pull off a solid Star Trek film.

Fancyarcher
I would love Andrew Stanton as the director. Me too, but we know that's not going to happen, especially after JC bombed badly (underrated movie BTW). SchumacherFTW
Me too, but we know that's not going to happen, especially after JC bombed badly (underrated movie BTW). He had a good eye but too long a leash. Stick him on a reasonable sized leash and he'd do a good job

lilmac
JJA will be done filming Episode VII this summer. There's a small chance he'll be available to film Star Trek. It's amazing. This man is involved in 3 major franchises. Insane!

If they want ST in 2016, JJ isn't doing it.

Agreed. Plus there might be Episode VII reshoots in 2015 when ST would theoretically be shooting.
