Very.

Gary Mitchell was the big suspicion lots (including me) had, especially after they cast pasty-white Cumberbatch.

Before that, they were trying to get Benicio del Toro, which kind of gave away the Khan thing.

They should've rewrote the script after that. Annoying how it seems every ethnic villain gets white washed. ((Khan, Shredder, Bane))

People should give him a chance. Orci couldn't have worked on all of these huge movies if he wasn't a talented guy. Besides The Amazing Spiderman 2 was Webb's fault. I hear he was on medication and changed the script.

Orci is risky as the third film ties in the 50th anniversary and we saw with Skyfall how a great Bond film can do combined with public interest due to an anniversary, Star Trek has the same potential especially with the right release date and marketing I would prefer a more established director like Konsinki or Wyatt at the helm with Orci doing second unit,I think and hope this will get a November release date, with no YA film in that slot so far, Star Trek could dominate and they'll get loads of free publicity just because its the 50th anniversary.I think plot wise, I think Klingons will be involved but I wouldn't be surprised if there is a second enemy like the Borg.

Funny how two 2013 May films had 9/11 truther elements.  ((2nd was IM3))

It is an offensive position one that should hold no merit in national discussion even their name "truther" as if their espousing the truth or searching for  the truth. That people like this still get jplatforms to spread their insanity and recive  jobs that they are not qualified for is awful

I'm hoping that Paramount decides that Orci is a bad idea for a director and hire someone decent. I think the first draft for Star Trek 3 is due soon so I imagine a greenlit is imminent.

I agree. I hope they drop him and hire a...you know...Director.

I think whoever they pick needs to maintain what JJ did with the last two films but add their own touch, Skyfall with Sam Mendes directing was the perfect example of this.
