I think that Eon was trying for a "one and done", but that might change  if the deal is good enough.

It will be interesting at to how desperate Sony will be to keep 007. Aside from the "Halo effect" Bond brings, if Sony loses 007, that leaves them with only one big franchise..Spiderman....and multiple franchises are what investors look at in a studio nowdays.

Looks like EON will split up domestic and OS

http://deadline.com/2017/11/james-bond-domestic-release-deal-mgm-annapurna-daniel-craig-1202205255/

EXCLUSIVE: In a move sure to make the Lion purr, MGM and Annapurna are thisclose to announcing they will team on the domestic release of next James Bondmovie. This all should be finalized this week, and rumors are flying today. This follows the announcement that MGM was joining forces with Annapurna in a joint venture, and the way 007 would work is MGM’s Gary Barber and producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are calling the shots, with Erik Lomas executing the domestic distribution and Marc Weinstock the marketing for the domestic release. While some might be surprised the historically conservative producers would entrust the crown jewel to a relative newcomer like Annapurna, Lomas worked on the distribution of Bond films before at MGM, and Weinstock marketed two of them while at Sony Pictures.

This is just one of the pieces that has to fall into place. Those producers might put faith in Annapurna in domestic, but not beyond in a company that has to build offshore distribution and ancillary operations. There are still major decisions to be made on both international distribution and ancillary distribution, the latter of which long had been administered by Fox in a deal that is expiring. At least three studios are vying for foreign, where Bond generates just over 70% of its overall box office revenues. We’ve heard that Warner Bros, Sony, Fox and Universal are still vying.

However, on this occasion, TWO different sources , one from the United States and the other from the United Kingdom tell us that Nolan will be the director and that he is already working on the film. These solid sources foresee that the official announcement can be made in January or February 2018 .

I'll believe it when I see it but wow, this is going to repeat Skyfall success if true. Nolan is one of rare directors who is a legit boxoffice draw. He + Bond Brand = Power Couple

Add to that that it's Craig's last go as Bond and the hype writes itself. It would definitely make it a more interesting head-to-head fight between Bond 25 and Wonder Woman 2 in the US.

Nolan finishing off someone else's series seems like a longshot to me, Nolan will definitely do the post-Craig Bond movie, but wrapping up Craig's series does not seem like something he would sign up for.
