Best visual effects-2014

Recommended Posts

Gravity and Life of Pi deserved their wins.

Hugo and Benjamin Button are two I'd say didn't.

Benjamin Button definitely deserved it's award. My hate of the film is well documented here but the effects work on Pitt is top notch. Wasn't the strongest year either.

I'd be okay with either Apes or Interstellar winning. Apes had the best motion capture ever and Interstellar had best space ever so it's kind of a toss-up for me.

What about Guardians for combining both of them  Actually like Life of Pi they didn't use motion capture for Rocket and Groot, only stand ins so had to fully animate their movements, which is impressive

I wonder what's more difficult, Space shots or these fully animated animals.

The space shots were sets. Interstellar had no green screens in it.
