I will never bet against James Cameron again. Forgive me JC for doubting you.

Words of wisdom🦝👍.

Also the Renfield movie trailer that just dropped looks interesting. Though I don't watch vamp movies anymore.  Maybe hwood is learning  to try new things after all😉🥊

I think Avatar 2 will be the biggest lose for JC after his Titanic boost

A3,4,5 will be gross far more than A2

Everyone in here always talking about doom & gloom but let's be honest that's just box office.

The real doom and gloom is Russia/Ukraine/China/Taiwan + Covid Round 2 (it's bigger and angier)

If is in better shape than it is now, A3 will gross more. I don't think it will be.

Avatar 3 will be like 3B with James Cameron standard quality

With better circumstances (Covid, China, Ukraine war, ER) this movie would have made more than 3billies.

I just watched it and James knocked it out the park.  Wow.  Try 3.5 Billion OS and Over a Billion Domestic in a normal healthy box office world.   Amazing Sequel.

Unfortunately, I strongly expect the economic situation will become much worse, which leaves a more difficult environment for Avatar 3

Or we could have a recovery until then. Who knows. Remember 2008, a big global financial crisis. And in 2009 we had the biggest movie of all time. Would be nice if a3 could pull off the same stunt.

The first time they jump into the water and what comes after is the most epic (3D) movie experience ever. You are just sitting there smiling all over your face, completely relaxed and just enjoying the moment like you are there. Nothing comes close.

Cant speak for other countries but its pretty bad in the UK right now, including for myself as i lost my job due to my company going under through covid.

I still saw the movie 4 times, and will be seeing it once more.

I thought there was already data that films, some films anyway, can actually break out in times like this due to people wanting a few hours of escapism.

Had covid not exploded in China just days before Avatar 2's release, it's clear it would've easily surpassed $2.5 billion and possibly even hit $3 billion (too early to say without seeing where WW -C ends up). This is sheer insanity given all the obstacles against it. I never made a prediction but always doubted it mainly due to Avatar 2 losing the novelty factor ala Empire Strikes Back and Jurassic Park 2. But Cameron shows once again it's a big mistake to compare his movies to anything else. He's truly in a galaxy of his own. Credit to Iron Jimbo, Stuart, Kal and all the other true believers here.
