It's so funny going to other forums to hear "this made 1B? but it has no cultural impact! the story is simple"

Why do things have to have narrative value to just be nice to look at? What's wrong with a simple story?

They repeat same sentence for last 13 years is just meme at this point.

When asked about what fans can expect from the third Avatar film, Cameron gave the first details about the “Ash People” — a new Na’vi culture that is not necessarily as “good” as those we’ve seen thus far.
“To show cultures different from those I have already shown,” Cameron told French outlet 20 Minutes (thanks to John Francis Gillman for the tip and translation). “The fire will be represented by the ‘Ash People.’ I want to reveal the Na’vi from another angle because, for the moment, I have only shown their good sides. In the early films, there are very negative human examples and very positive Na’vi examples. In Avatar 3, we’ll have the opposite.”
Cameron also spoke of his goals with the franchise and how the story will continue to grow.

“We will also explore new universes while continuing the story of the main characters. I can say that the last parts will be the best. The others were an introduction, a way to set the table before serving the meal”.

Budget goes down next movie because a huge chunk is movie tech advancements.

I like this. The "humans are bad" shtick would get old pretty quick.

Finally caught the movie. I loved it...I found this better than first part. Maybe could have trimmed few minutes in the middle but I honestly didn't really feel the long runtime. I think when compared to first part, what I liked more in this one is that I cared more for the characters in the movie. For all the talk about how there aren't many memorable characters from Avatar1, I feel like this movie puts that talk to bed. Kids characters were excellent...Tuk especially was absolutely adorable and Kiri was quite interesting. I liked the part in the end where Neytiri unleashed her rage. Spider was also an interesting character..I think he will probably play much bigger role in the following parts. Visually as expected it was stunning.

I have seen lot of Avatar2 characters fan accounts popping up on twitter over the last week..especially for Neytiri, Tuk, Kiri.
