Canadian male life expectancy is 80 years and Cameron takes good care of himself. Biggest thing to worry about with him is one of his deep sea dives going wrong

I think his adventuring is on hold until the Avatar sequels are finished.

Don't feel bad, if the Dollar tanks that means other currencies are stronger. Americans sacrifice will not be in-vain.

Given the political climate in the US, hard to say where the USD will be in 4 years. In any case, I think $3 billion WW is my optimistic prediction for now. If China explodes, I can see Avatar 2 beating the $2 billion OS record of Avatar even if exchange rates are still worse. The question is whether the sequels will see large drops like Star Wars films or will Avatar 5 end up being the biggest of the franchise.

To me the time gap is a Fox contingency plan.

It means that 2&3 & 4&5 are two separate entities.

Fox hated pretty much everything about Avatar, the message, the Na'vi etc.

They are not crazy and they probably said to Jim :

" 4 movies ? 4 movies ? 2B ? 2,5B you ask ?

Look, we ll give you  1B to make 2&3, prove us the world can fall in love again with Pandora and that you are still the King of the World and we will be game for 4 & 5".

I think I am right on this, as always.

Except I'm positive Fox is not the one shelling the ginormous budget. Or at least, not the entire budget, just a small percentage just like the first Avatar which was mostly financed by a whole array of investors and third party production companies, Fox didn't bank that much on it just in case it flopped.

We know Cameron has huge Chinese financial backing on these babies but I still think what I said is true for whatever financial partners Cameron has on this huge project.

Is the creation of the facility I talked about included in the budget ? Who knows ...

We also know that Cameron can't do cheap or mundane, when he does a movie it MUST be cutting edge technology, way beyond what competitors are doing so the movies cannot be cheap.

His motto is the following : " If nobody tells me : that s impossilbe, well I am  not interested".

He always pushes the boundaries of the medium and his Avatar sequels won't be any different.

The first thing everybody did when this announcement was made today:

"How old will I be when Avatar series is completed in 2025?"

(Still younger than @Tele Came Back ). :redcapes:

Technically the planet Earth would be younger than Tele.

Hope the dollar tanks by 2020, we could be looking at $4b

Also, Avatar 2 will drop $1b ww from the first.  Bookmark this for when it finally never comes out.

ok bookmarked for 50 months from now, it has more chance of making over 3b than it does of making under 2b
