THURSDAY NUMBERS (04.10.2014)

Recommended Posts

600m should be a sure thing… anything higher than that? Would be awesome, but not holding my breath. Still, this movie deserves to billion dollar at the B.O. of all the Phase Two movies.

How much did TDW make again?

644 m

I just want Cap 2 to beat Thor 2 WW.

Beating MOS would be icing on the cake.

Why would it be icing on the cake ?

TWS is multi sequel...CA1, Then The AVenger, then his appearance in TDW etc....

Where as MOS is a reboot..... No comparison.

Although I think it will be closer to TDW's number.

Were the big Scream 4 predictions because of tracking or nostalgia? Scream 3 didn't exactly leave the series on a high note. Not to mention the 11 year gap.

Definitely nostalgia.

MOS 2 and Cap 3 are competing for the same release date.  ;)

Nostalgia and adjusted grosses.Plus, I grew up on the Scream films, but Scream 4 was the first that I was old enough to see in the cinemas. The first 3 were all rated 18 here in the UK. I was only 12 when Scream 3 came out.

What does this mean?

It just compares 1st week Thursday drops of all the Marvel movies. In the brackets it shows the % of Thursday gross relative to the od...CA2's 4.58m Thu is 12.40% of od (36.92m).

Regards to what it means, it's mostly data...not really information  :)

I thought maybe some pattern would show up.

IM1, Avengers and Thor have the best Thursday to od percentages...their weekend drops were also the lowest.

Nothing really solid though : IM2's Thursday was 12.37% of od (similar to CA2's 12.40%). I don't expect them to have similar weekend drops though  :P

Funny thing about my showing Draft Day is that the 1PM show was about half full and it was all adults my age.

Another funny thing is when the Expendables 3 trailer came on, I was giggling while watching it.  The lady sitting diagonal to me looked back at me and gave me a dirty look.  Then the Hercules trailer came one and I laughed while watching it because Sean Bean was narrating it and immediately I thought, "Oh yea, he'll get his chopped off or get disembowled or something" so that made me laugh...again dirty look.  Then in the film Draft Day, I laughed when Frank Langella and Kevin Dunn shook hands because I remembered they were in Dave together, also directed by Ivan Reitman.  She turned around and gave me another dirty look...all for laughing.  Well, finally I just thought I'd have some fun, so I leaned over and I whispered to her, "Is my laughing bothering you?"  She just gave me another dirty look and I laughed again.

Some people need to take the fucking pickles out of their ass.

I had one of those super easily impressed people at my Grand Budapest Hotel screening. She was just disgustingly happy, going "YEEAAAAAH, WHEEEEEEEEE, HO-HO-HO, OOPS! NO WAY!" all through the movie. Clapping her hands and shit. I almost told her to shut the fuck up but then I thought she might be mentally retarded and it wouldn't have been cool.
