Barbie doesn't need to be based on 1960s spy satire to appeal to the same audience as Powers. Barbie is a high concept comedy satire ala Austin Power, Anchorman, etc - it's the same audience.

It even has Will Farrell in it who was in both of those movies lol. So obvious this is appealing to anyone who likes zany comedies and the market is devoid of any big comedy hits for…I’d argue years now? This could easily be a WOM break out but imagine if it blows up big on opening weekend too!

This is not gonna be a movie ala Austin Powers. That's pure comedy, Barbie will be also an emotional movie with some depth.

I think more of a mix of Toy Story and Shrek, not pure satirical comedies for adults.

Are Disney adaptations even colorful anymore? Most of the live action adaptations are so desaturated they are a couple of levels away from black and white.

Problem is desturated color is considered a quick and easy ticket to making your film look cool and different.

One of the things I disliked about Snyder is his idea that every single movie should be in destraurted color. As opposed to Nolan, who knows when it can be effective and when not to do it.

Oh, I think Grewig whole idea is to makea  film that ,like Toy Story and Shrek has it both ways. Lot of fun for kids, but with a lot of satire for the grown ups. Shrek's demolition of Michael Eisner is one of the best remembered things about the film.

Honestly that's the trailer. Really seems this big high budget summer comedy for everyone, something we need again and more.

I really don't understand the "what is it the target" since seems pretty much for every person from 10 to 60, but too much pink in the producion design makes it not for everyone I guess.

Good lord, actors are so unbearable. "That's why this story must be told." Fuck off, it's a doll movie to sell more dolls.
