I just don't see the appeal in this film at all.  We all know he's going to make it.  So where's the drama in the movie?

 

The spectacle in watching it unfold. The destination is irrelevant compared to the journey in movies like this.

Summer movies aren't going for "innovative" though. They're going for fun (usually).

 

Gravity was going for more than that. This film looks to be going for more than that. Gravity, imo (obviously a lot of smart people disagree), was boring empty spectacle. I hope that The Walk is more engaging.

What does excited me about The Walk, which I am seeing tomorrow to review, is the sentimentality for the Twin Towers. I think that sounds nice.

Gravity was all CG...seriously, that round Earth? FAKE.

The Gravity making of is absolutely incredible.

This movie was like a big science, R&D project, Warner is really the last studio to allow that kind of things.

Cuaron spent 4 years on the movie, just as much as Cameron on Avatar.

The movie was scheduled for a Fall 2012 release but Cuaron said to the studio the movie wasn't ready, that it could be perfected, Warner accepted and put more money into the movie.

Cameron helped Gravity too, by Cuaron s own admission.
