TalismanRing
I like Mary Pickford, she's got moxie and star power but the Chaplin guy's Tramp shtick is going to wear thin soon. t he'll probably have more staying power than Paramount Pictures. That 3,300 movie seat palace will be the wave of the future - no one will ever settle for sitting in a couple hundred seat box again! [*]The 3,300-seat Mark Strand Theatre opens in New York City. [*]February 2 - Charlie Chaplin's first film, Making a Living is released. [*]February 7 - Release of Charlie Chaplin's second film, the Keystone comedy Kid Auto Races at Venice, in which his character of The Tramp is introduced to audiences (although first filmed in Mabel's Strange Predicament, released two days later). [*]February 10 - Release of the film Hearts Adrift; the name of Mary Pickford, the star, is displayed above the title on movie marquees. [*]April 18 - The film Cabiria is released. [*]May 8 - Paramount Pictures is formed. [*]Filoteo Alberini introduces a new 70 mm format, Panoramico, with the film Il sacco di Roma

TalismanRing
Hoping for best case scenario that ASM2 is around 175 after this weekend. Thur is probably going to be down another 10% so $1.8m. It would have to jump 200% on Friday and have a 4 multiplier for $21.6m

TalismanRing
Or color. Color is so cartoonish and vulgar. Have you seen those prints with people with rouged up cheeks and lips?
Plain Old Tele
i think it's possible. a stretch definitely. imaging if they add color too! wow, that would be the last dimension we would need. I've seen a reel of a British documentary that just came out, that uses a brand new technique to actually capture a color image (as opposed to stenciling color onto an existing frame). It looked fantastic! I think this new technology will catch on, it's only a matter of time. Now sound on the other hand, I have my doubts about that. Who needs to hear words being spoken? We already have excellent inter-titles and a fantastic orchestra accompanying each movie.
