I don't care about Big Willy's Scientology, marital woes, that he's a butt of jokes for trying to make his spoiled brat happen as a movie star, etc. He should have won the Oscar for IAL, dammit, one of the cinema's greatest performances. That said, Silence trailer was alright, nothing special. Torture porn with fake accents and really beautiful cinematography.

 

This movie will be divisive. Can't imagine only raves. Love/hate is more realistic.

Ok, so this guy has some ties although you wouldn't know from his 12 years old-txting-from-his-Iphone writing style. So he spoke to some people attending NFCA and here's what they said:

"Heavy embargo, but I asked someone I know from NYFC about it. I asked him how much I was allowed to say, and he said award prospects only and no spoilers. He told me that Garfield is miscast, and that this will probably not be the film to earn him an oscar nomination for Best Actor. He said Neeson is very brief, but very good in his small screentime. He said that he heard all the buzz about the performance and does not think he lives up to it, and might not be nominated. He was actually impressed with Driver the most. As someone who said they're not a fan of his, he said he delivers the performance of his career. He thinks it will get a lot of techs, but will indeed be very very polarizing. He says Scorsese for director is a possibility, ala The Last Temptation of Christ. He compared the film to Kundun, he said it was much better than that but a similar type of film. The golden globes are also supposedly pretty cold on the movie.

Right now, everyone is discussing some woman Yamamoto who tweeted that Silence is a white savior movie or something. So annoying cause I want to see more reactions but that woman stole the movie's thunder.
