Weekend Numbers: GOTG - 94M (PG 180) [25.5M Sunday (Spatula) Cancel the Godzilla legs!]

Besides Kill Bill Vol. 1 had obviously been shot months before Matrix Reloaded came out.

I'm still cracking up at Baumer's stance, 20 pages after the fact.

If anything The Bride vs Crazy 88 is a "rip-off" homage to Bruce Lee. The bride's outfits pay homage to Bruce Lee's suit in Game Of Death and The Crazy 88's outfits/masks pay homage to Bruce Lee's Kato in Green Hornet TV series confronting two martial art styles, academic style vs Bruce Lee's innovating style that made him famous.

I hope GOTG wins the summer. It was very good though I prefer DOFP, CA2 and EOT more than this. But it is funniest among them. Groot stole the show for sure.

I thought Pratt was amazing especially in one hilarious scene with Ronan lol.I think this can still win summer. I agree though that EOT, X-M: DOFP, CA: TWS and if I may add, DOTPOTA were better.

I haven't seen Apes yet. Will check it out next week :-(

Pratt aced the role as well. Probably the best Marvel lead minus RDJ. Slightly ahead of evans. But Groot character had the best impact in the movie.

Starlord, RR and Groot are my favorites.

Drax was shocking ... I didn't think Big Dave had that in him.

Instead of the character being played along the big-tough-guy-with-a-heart-of-gold cliché, he was played as a traumatized guy who happened to be really big.  Such an approach is the smart way to make characters connect with the audience.  Kudos to Gunn for turning that table, and to Bautista for pulling it off.
