And I will keep repeating that the credit for "The Heat" must all go to Melissa McCarthy unless and until it starts kicking Identity Thief's ass. As things stand right now, it is one track to replicate Identity Thief's domestic and overseas performance which opened just 5 months ago ,which was all Melissa McCarthy and which had terrible reviews. .

 

Sandra Bullock is more of an international draw than Melissa McCarthy, obviously. Bullock was the only "The Heat" star who did international promotion for the film, including Australia, where is just opened #1 at the box office.

The trailer is hugely attention-getting and it's inevitably going to end up with great reviews. I never thought this could be a hit, but maybe it can!

Bullock's performance is already being mentioned in many Oscar 2014 prediction lists as a possible Best Actress in a Leading Role contender (although Streep in August: Osage County will be the one to beat) If Bullock and Clooney, two beloved stars, can conjure up some decent chemistry, and Cuarón creates an enthralling experience, this could be yet another hit for Ms. Bullock (and for Clooney, of course). And if she does get an Oscar nod, it will further cement her place as a well-liked, highly valued Hollywood player. Sorry, Mr. Reynolds.

Isn't hack someone who doesn't even try to put effort into his films, like Uwe Boll or something? You can say you hate their pictures, but I just dont see how people like Alfonso Cuaron or Wes Anderson are hacks when they obviously put a shitload of thought and detail and effort into their movies.
