John Marston
That was exactly what led to the thread lock yesterday. The exact same conversation.I think it's a fair conversation to have after this opening. However if people are posting nothing but gifs then I understand locking

Chewy
They should really make a live action Ghostbusters movie. Yeah, the cartoon was pretty good. I don't know if you can render the ghosts on a reasonable budget, tho

grim22
Paramount tempering expectations 6th UPDATE, Saturday, 8:56 AM:Paramount Pictures finally weighed in this AM and they are predicting lower than all other estimates on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, saying that they think the three-day will be $62M, so maybe they know something that every other distributor out there doesn’t; all others have it grossing a three-day of $64.5M to $65M+. The studio has its reptilian monster taking in $25.6M last night. The thing is, the CinemaScores for this is skewing incredibly well for the younger audiences … they note it themselves this morning that it has an A for kids, which is true: Under 18 which made up 27% of the audience yesterday gave it that grade and we are heading into a strong family moviegoing day. theultimatebiu
So my expectations for childhood franchises to get adapted by hollywood Thundercats - 90% - It was pretty big He-Man - 100% - Its pretty much a no-brainer The Mysterious City of Gold - 60% - It wasn't huge but it could be a property with a lot of potential Inspector Gadget - 70% - Even that awful adaption in the 90's made $100M MASK - 60% - Only because you can make a TF clone from it Visionaires - 40% - You could make something decent from the plot outline Centurions - 50% - Basically it would be Iron Man with 3 guys instead of one Captain Planet - 80% - It was every bit as popular as TMNT at one point

Ando918
Wow, Get on Up is only going to finish at about 40 domestically, even with good reviews. Why aren't more Black audiences / moviegoers going to see this kind of movie other than really stupid crap like Ride Along, Think Like a Man 7, Bad Boys 13, Big Momma's House 5, Tyler Perry's Madea part 17, and others. Spike Lee has said before there is a problem here with African-American audiences often not supporting movies based on real people and real events. Hatebox
Has anyone read the original Turtles Graphic Novel? It's hyper violent. The turtles murder as many people as they can as painfully as possible.
